The Vintner Hall has a new Hallmaster, whose name is Kefnek.

To throw a monkey-wrench in the smooth transition of Hallmaster power, someone is going to discover that all the stored grain the Hall has stored for distilling and brewing and so on has been contaminated with ergot or some other Pernese version of mold or fungus or something. It's all ruined anyway. Which means the Hall won't be able to continue production of these things until they get more grain. They'll have what's already on hand to meet demand for beer and ale and liquor and so on,but that will run through quickly, so they'll have to order more grain, but we're just coming off winter so it'll be a lot of tricky negotiation.

Basically everything that would happen if the major hub of production of anything suddenly lost most of it's resources months before they could get more of their own and had to rely on what they could buy off of other folks using the same resource for their own purposes is going to happen.

And of course, during all of this, the usual springtime work of pruning vines and planting new fields of grain and bottling things that have aged over the winter and training/teaching and so on will be going on.

So, does it sound interesting? Great! I need someone to be a Farmercrafter whose job it is to help the Vintners out when it is planting, growing and harvesting for various crops you can make alcohol out of. Grain (obviously) potatoes,  etc. I assume they'd have a few running around overseeing these events and keeping an eye on crops for pests and so on while they are growing. This particular one will be discovering the blight on the stored grain and bring it to the Hallmaster's attention. It will be a recurring character, because they'll need to diagnose the problem, see the extent of it, make a recommendation of burning, writing home to their crafthall saying, "The Vintners are so screwed." and various other story related activities. Plus, as I said above, there's the spring planting for the desperately needed new crop to oversee.

So, who wants to make a farmercrafter at the Vintner Hall? An NPC will do in a pinch, of course! lol

And, aside from this storyline, who wants to write a copost with our new Vintner Hallmaster? Some Journeyman want to talk about becoming a Master? Some Master want to congratulate him on his fancy new office? Some apprentice caught being lazy and getting a stern talking to?

And if you don't have a character at the Vintner Hall, make one! There's a LOT of empty slots at the Vintner Hall, which means you can pretty much have any sort of character you want (pending the usual approval process, of course).

:sheepish:

(edited to add working link lol)

He and Lord Zathris could have a copost -- becoming acquainted with one another and such.

I like the idea of writing a farmer! Not sure if an NPC or someone more permanent yet. Either way, I'm here if you need me. :)
