Comprehensive Overview of Rankers

Article by: Avery

This is the comprehensive guideon how ranking personas work at Triad Weyrs. It goes overwhat the levels of rank are, how many ranking personas a writer may have, and the posting requirements for each rank. Related FAQs that go into more detail about specific parts will be linked to from this document.

Rank Levels
  • Level One:A L1 ranker oversees the roleplay location they are in charge of, both in-character and out-of-character. L1 personas are Hallmasters, Lord Holders, and Weyrleaders.
  • Level Two: A L2 ranker has significant administrative authority in their location. L2 personas include Hallseconds, Lady Holders, Weyrlingmasters, Weyrwomen, and Wingleaders.
  • Level Three: A L3 ranker has administrative authority in their location. L3 personas include Headwomen, Master of Apprentices, Runner Stationmaster, Stewards, Weyrlingmaster's Seconds and Thirds, Weyrwoman's Second, and Wingseconds and Wingthirds. Female Master Crafters who had their mastery before the Plagues (are older than 70 Turns) fall into this category as well.
  • Level Four: A L4 ranker has some significance at their location but generally does not have in-character administrative duties. L4 personas include bandit leaders, bronzeriders, caravan leaders, crafters with the rank of Master, Hear All Dragons (HADs), goldriders, gold firelizard owners, and tavern masters.

Rank Limitations:
  • Level One: Two L1 personas whichmay not be inthe same territory. See Special Limitations below.
  • Level Two: Two L2 personas whichmay not be at the same location.*
  • Level Three: Four L3 personas, maximum of two in one location.*
  • Level Four: As many L4 personas as the writer feels they can and still meet requirements.

Special Limitations:
There are a few special rank limitations outside of the numerical ones above.
  • A member may have 2 Level One personas, but they may not be in the same territory. For example, a membercould not havethe Jade Harbor Lord Holder and the Hallmaster of the Technicians Hall located at Jade Harbor, but they could have the Technicians Hallmaster and the Weyrleader of Rising Moons.
  • It is fine for members to have 2 Level Twopersonas in the same territory so long as they are not in the same location; the Dragonsfall Weyrlingmaster and the Opal CoveLady Holder would be acceptable.
  • A member may have either a Weyrwoman or a Weyrleader at Triad, but they cannot have both; one character would have to step down IC.
  • Exceptions to these limitations may be purchased via the Member Rewards system.

    Posting Requirements:
    • Level One: Two posts and a location report.
    • Level Two: Two posts.
    • Level Three: One copost.
    • Level Four: One post.

All posting requirements are per real-life month. L3 and L4 characters can be made permanently requirements-free via the Member Rewards program.

    General Ranker Rule
Whether or not the requirements for any or all ranks are being enforced at any time the following shall apply: Should your ranker not be posted for 6 consecutive months without notice to the council of an acceptable reason, your rank may be removed with or without notice. *Notice to the council will be treated as confidential information.
