The Weyrlingmaster. The Weyrlingmaster generally has two formal assistants (designated as his 'Second and 'Third, generally indicating their experience as a rider).

The Weyrlingmaster will always have a decade or more of experience as a rider. While he is often a bronze or brownrider with leadership experience, the Weyrleader can choose a rider of any color for the role. His 'Second and 'Third can be riders of any color with at least five Turns of experience.

The Weyrlingmaster usually trains the seniormost weyrling group, allowing his 'Second and 'Third to work with the junior weyrlings and candidates. The Weyrlingmaster reigns supreme where his weyrlings are concerned. Even the Weyrleadership will not override his decisions without a great deal of consideration first.
