Pine
Leaves: thick clumps of needles
Flowers: long, smooth pine cone.
Stems: deep reddish brown bark
Harvest: bark, needles, pitch, spores and pollen dust
Healer use: Needles in a bath relieve nervous tension. The pitch, decocted into a tea is used for coughs. Steam inhalation of the needles helps with sinus headaches, prevents blood clots, reduces edema, varicose veins, and improves the elasticity and appearance of the skin. Pine is also used for athritis, hay fever, scurvy. It protects and strengthens the heart. The spores are used to treat indigestion, nausea, vomiting, distended abdomen with gas, caonstipation, hemmorrhoids, headaches, sore throats, dry coughs, flu tiredness, fatigue, hair loss, and psoriasis. In men, it will treat enlarged prostrate, reddish urine with a sandy element, increased libido with an inability to achieve or sustain an erection.
