Growth form:
Barley is a self-pollinating member of the grass family.
General habitat:
Barley grows best in temperate areas as a summer crop, but can be grown in tropical areas as a winter crop.
Uses:
- Animal fodder
- Distillation of beer and ales
- Human consumption in soup, stews and breads
