So, I was poking around the web and found this site where there were a multitude of name generators. But none for Pern so I wrote to the site owner and asked for a DRoP generator. She even did some research in addition to the information I'd sent. She came up with a generator for both people/rider and dragon names. Check it out!!

Neat! I love name generators, although I have to admit I use them more for inspiration rather than plucking names fully formed from the results.
This is one of my favorite sites! I use it a lot for my fantasy novels. I often tweak the names, but this helps a lot in getting the right feel.
Generators are neat, but I rarely ever use one, a persona's name is very important to how I feel that persona is portrayed (for instance a Jessica and a Sally are two very different personalities to me just based off of their names... does that makes sense? I'm crazy.)
I don't normally need name generations, unless I'm totally blocked. I can come up names of my own. I actually have a notebook where I collect potential names. Like very rare finnish names ;)
