Where do we feed our dragons at DFW? Do they just hunt in the surrounding hills? I read the description of the area and that it is particularly good for raising beasties, but are there some special guidelines about taking the dragons out to hunt?

Dragonsfall has its own feeding grounds. However, some of the more seasoned riders might take their dragons out of the Weyr to go hunt in other areas.
For a weyrling, I doubt they'd be allowed to go out of the Weyr for extended periods for hunting...if a new weyrling/hatchingling pair, they'd be expected to feed their dragons by chopping up the butchered meat. 'Dragonseye' is the book I think gives the best description of new weyrlings and the dragonet's feeding habits.

Feeding grounds! Yes that is what I was looking for, but I didn't see any when I looked at the diagrams for DFW. Did I miss them? If not where would they be? Ground level, I guess.
I've been looking through Dragon's Eye and Dragon Lover's Guide to Pern, and if Kaithren & Cyrth were about to graduate, I'm figuring that Cyrth would be hunting (Well, to be more honest, I asked to be sure & Emma told me that she would).

Feeding grounds for flying dragons are atop the Weyr plateau (which explains why there's no diagram...)
A few would be kept down below for injured dragons, but since a dragon too injured (or too young) to fly can't kill his/her own food, those would be butchered by weyrstaff.
The South has extensive wild herds (which Weyrs occasionally try to gather some up) from the animals turned loose after the Plague 43 turns ago decimated so many Holds and there weren't enough people to care for them.
Hunting in a known settled area wouldn't be permitted (without the holder's permission), but any of the more desolate areas would be fine.
