Title: Weyrling Question
Post by: Miriah on October 08, 2014, 07:01:25 AM
Just out of curiosity, since junior weyrlings aren't allowed romantic relationships because a dragon could get confused, are weyrlings allowed self-gratification? I can imagine a lot of frustrated young men and women either way.

HAHA What a question!  I'm sure we'll be formulating answers but I'm sure it's come up.

I'd imagine a 'stiff' penalty for anyone getting caught ;) Remember there's communal living for junior weyrlings

*snickerfits*

Well, I can imagine it'll be easier to prevent them from relations with others, but how could weyrlingmasters prevent them from helping themselves out? I mean, otherwise, they'd have quite a few male weyrlings walking funny!

C'mon - you think I could resist some good old fashioned English smut, given the opportunity ;) I'd imagine at first they'd be too tired to deal with that kind of thing, however, teenage boys and morning glory..... let's not take that any further...

Well, think of poor J'ackt! He's been used to being naughty with several people, now it's a drought! He's going to be a walking ball of frustration really quickly.

It might be better for the entire weyr if he was able to get a handle on the situation. :D

My opinion would be .... no masturbation either. Why? Because it mostly requires some sort of visual/mental fantasy to accompany it. Wouldn't those visuals and feelings be just as confusing to weyrling dragons as actual sex?

Just a thought :)

And what about the dreams, wouldn't those bother he dragonets! And there is no way to control that, unfortunately.

Speaking as a mama who breast feed (and so was up every two hours for six months straight) I'd say they'd be just too tired to do anything other than collapse into their bed at night. :-)

Yeah...if I compare weyrling training to my days in training...you are literally too tired at the end of the day to do nothing but sleep. And I don't even think I had any of those dreams at least that I remember. It was blackness/tired/eat/exercise/get yelled at/sleep.
