Title: Ender's Game - Two Thumbs Up
Post by: Suzee on November 02, 2013, 02:07:53 PM
Just got home from the theater. I read the book years ago and they've done a great job!

I highly reccomend it... and take your kids.

You know I raved about it - my 11 year old cousin was on the edge of his seat for the whole film

Oh, I'm so excited! I really like 'Ender's Game' (despite the horridness of its author) and I really hope that the movie does it justice. I'm really, super glad to hear that real people who read the book liked it - it got a very 'meh' review in the local paper here. I'm hoping to go see it on Wednesday.

I really enjoyed it, but I don't know how much I'd like it if I didn't already know the book and understand some of the nuances. Some of the scenes weren't stitched together as well as I would have liked and it sometimes felt like they just took cool parts of the book, filmed them, and then played it chronologically. Also, it needed more battleroom.

And Ben Kinglsey is wonderful as ... that guy at the end of the movie <spoilers> -- he has such a wonderful face! Even without the decorations!

Oh, Ben Kingsley was wonderful, even if his accent did seem to wander round the whole southern hemisphere and back again
