Title: rough day on a mommy
Post by: Miriah on August 20, 2012, 07:14:01 AM
Today is my daughter's first day of kindergarten. I was rushed all morning by an excited five year old and even told while I was putting my make up on that "Mommy, we don't have time for that!" Got her to school and had to remind her about hugs and kisses before she ran off to play with new friends. Am a little sniffly now. SHE ISN'T SUPPOSED TO GROW UP SO FAST! *wail*

I have multiple stories on that score but my favorite is my youngest son. He's was always hovering right next to me but on his first day of school he became all independent. I watched through the classroom window while he went in and sat down on the carpet with the rest of the kids. Of course I thought there was going to be a melt down but no.

He turned and looked at me through the window and WINKED. (Yah mom I'm fine, you can go now.)

That made me cry I can tell ya.

It's a right of passage that first day of school. For Mom as much as for the kids.  Enjoy it while you can, they grow up too fast.
