Hi! So, the character (Arzel (http://www.triadweyrs.org/persona.php?ps_id=24)) I adopted hasn't been approved yet and I don't even have a mentor yet, but when he is and when I have one, who wants to write with me?
Also... I've been looking at the story listings for the Vintner Hall and it's kinda quiet for a while, huh? Well, lets make some noise!
I had this idea today while I was tooling around the site and who do I need to talk to about story ideas? See, I was thinking that it might be fun to have my character doing something forbidden; secretly teaching girls. The Hall is supposed to be strictly anti-female, right? My character thinks women should be able to craft... it would be so fun to have him illicitly teaching girls at the Hall who want to learn. Sneaking around, meeting with the girls, maybe someone sees them and gets the wrong idea, maybe, after a while, he gets caught and in so much trouble! That'd be awesome. Anyway, there doesn't seem to be a Hallmaster, so I guess the Hallsecond? Or the Council, is it a Council permission type of thing? And, if I can do it, who wants to do the writing for a girl or two who may or may not get caught too? I'm not sure if any of this is cool or the details - I guess those'd be worked out with whoever is giving permission/getting involved, but it's an idea I had I thought I'd throw out there and see what happened.
And I just realized that the second half of that post probably shouldn't be in this forum, but in the Storyline Suggestions one. Oops! :geek:
I don't have a Persona at the Vintner Hall but I do at Amber Hills and dragonriders can visit anytime. Beyond that I am happy to npc something for you! It's good to see so much enthusiasm!
I have a Vintner, Keayd, juniour journeyman and Puwul, tavern master, who can post with your sona. Keayd is specilizing to same field as Arzel so he could act as his mentor in his project for senior knots.
And Puwul is always eager to purchase products to sell in tavern! Or he can just stop by for a pint and chat.

yeah such a plot would have to have council approval. Vintner hall doesnt have an L1 at the moment, so everything should go through Eimi who has the L2.
My only thinking is-if they don't allow female crafting there then there wouldnt be any girls to teach except for perhaps daughters of current crafters and/or drudges. Hmm...but it'd definitely be risky business and could be enough to get his craft knots stripped if he was found out. If you're willing to do it though it'd be fun to read. But yeah-prolly run it by Eimi and/or Council first.

Yeah, I figured it would be daughters of other craftsmen, Hall staff, that sort of thing. Girls who were exposed to tidbits of the training just from proximity but who were forbidden to actually learn it. And I don't mean a whole herd of girls. Maybe three or four. He's seen potential in them somehow or they'd found out he's sympathetic somehow and gotten brave enough to ask... whatever. And yeah, I kind of assume it would lead to mega badness but, that would be fun too.
I'll email Eimi and the Council about it later this morning, with more details and an outline (I've had more time to think about it now! lol)

As soon as i get a mentor (I have to have one first, right?) and I'm still not sure if my adoption has been approved yet, but as soon as I get all that figured out, let's write! You too Suzee! Hmmm, having read about it and thinking a little. Once you get Eimi's thoughts you might have a potential ally in Cyradis. Though the vintner hall isn't beholden to DCW she was raised as a girl in the crafthall where her father was a Master. She did learn some things though she wasn't allowed to study the craft herself.
Anyway, there's possibilities and I'm sure she'll be visiting now and then.
LOVE your idea!!! I've got a drudge named Halah over at AHH..if you want a girl to teach it'd be easy to relocate her over at the VH as it's just a short walk away. Also, there's S'vin, if you want an alley. He's at the VH's Weyr, DFW, and is in training to be a Searchrider and is currently finding out what bigots the Holds/Halls are when it comes to the rights of women.
I've got a lady at AHH who likes her liquors, me thinks. We should do a post once you're ready to go!
