Since I'm job hunting (with no luck, I might add :P) I've got lots of reading time on my hands. Does anyone have a good book that they'd recommend? I'm looking for fiction, preferably. Since I just graduated from college I'm done with non-fiction books for a while, lol. I like all genres of fiction though =)
Try Patricia Briggs if you like urban fantasy, the Mercedes Thompson and Alfa & Omega -series. If you're into Sci-fi, look for Jaine Fenn.
If you like historical, there's Sinuhe by Mika Waltari (should be found in english.) :)
I just read the 'Game of Thrones' books, 'The passage' by Justin Cronin was good.
Anything by Charles De Lint is great, part. 'The Onion Girl.' If you want serious but brilliant, then 'Beloved' by Toni Morrison is soooo good, but tragic as well.
My faves...
The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon and its offshoot, the Lord John Grey novels like Brotherhood of the Blade and so on.
I also enjoy Karen Hancock's Guardian King series and Sherilynn Kenyon's Dark Hunter/Dream Hunter series.
If you have any bent toward Military Sci Fi, the Honor Harrington series by David Webber is outstanding. If you prefer Magic, then the Belgariad by David and Leigh Eddings.
Woo! Thanks for all of the recommendations everyone! :) I can't wait to get them put onto my Nook!
Also currently reading the 'Game of Thrones' series and loving it. Only on book 2 though! :study:
In the meantime what Suzee suggested reminded my of another great book, Heather. It's another one by David & Leigh Eddings. It's a standalone book they wrote and it's called 'The Redemption of Althalus.' I've read it several times myself and I think you would really enjoy it. That book has everything, humor, romance, action, and a great story. If you're interested I can email you the .epub version for your Nook. Yay Nook!
