Title: NPC Rules
Post by: Jane on July 19, 2009, 12:06:31 AM
I'm feeling particularly hemmed in by the NPC rules.  I keep coming up with ideas and then abandoning them because they need NPCs (some I would write, some I would ask others to).

Can we just go over some plot scenarios deciding who would need sheets and who wouldn't:

* An old NPC friend of R'haran's discovers him at DCW and briefly (a number of posts) tries to renew their acquaintance.

* The NPC woman K'hetah was escaping when he moved to DCW visits (more than once over a short period of time) to discuss something with him.

* In an open-ended and ongoing plot Zandreu gets in contact with his estranged NPC family by letter.

* The Dolphin Hall's NPC apprentices get up to no good (over a series of posts over sevendays or a month or two).

* A sports day is held at the Dolphin Hall with the background crowds of participants being NPCs for this series of posts dated on a single Pern date.

* An NPC passenger travels on the Sungazer for the length of the upstream journey.

* A Lord Holder is asked to rule on a dispute between two NPC cotholders and their NPC families.

Thanks.

Actually, Jane, this is the kind of question that the Council has to go over each one, so I'll copy and paste it to them.  We'll e-mail you when you have answers for you.  Please give us time to go through them all.
