What's your set up?
I have a laptop (a pretty, new MacBook) and am currently sitting at the kitchen table but also spend a lot of time on the living room couch. The couch is leather, which I don't really like, but it's my roommate's so I can't just get rid of it. I'm currently not working, so I can respond to e-mails at any time. That will be changing soon though, when I go back to school.
Jane, that's great that you got the chair! I've never heard of that as a retirement present, although it's a wonderful idea if it's comfortable.

...on week days, mostly it's the first thing I do in the morning.. (after getting cup of tea or instant-cappucino). Although I peek in once or twice during the day depending how busy I am. (Yes, when I'm supposed to be working).

mostly from a laptop that is 'officially' my husbands but is used by the laptop. Sometimes from my desktop which is not shared with anyone. The laptop is kept on the kitchen table since it's a central location and easy to get too. My desktop is in our bedroom, or rather, the part we use as a study. I sit in a cheapo chair for both that works even if they aren't pretty. :)
I reply usually while the children are eating or napping or while I'm cooking something in the kitchen (as long as my hands are clean). :) I also reply in the evenings and sometimes up til 1am central because I am a night owl. :)

--from my computer in my spare bedroom/office. We have a three bedroom house and no kids so both the extra bedrooms have computers in them. My husband has an entire server set up in one of the spare bedrooms and I have my computer in the other. I am hoping to get all my school stuff organized and put away in this room as well.
--Whenever I have a spare moment and I have a lot of those right now.
