This is the first year I'm having Thanksgiving with friends and am in charge of cooking everything. I'm very excited, but also a bit anxious. I'm trying to gather as many recipes as possible this weekend so I can prepare a menu for Thursday and go grocery shopping and plan what can be cooked the day before. So, does anyone have any great recipes I could use? I'd welcome any recipes/advice, but am specifically looking for:
something with potatoes (maybe a fun variation on mashed potatoes)
soup (I'm thinking squash or something harvesty)
vegetables (green beans, corn, anything else)
stuffing
cornbread
dessert! (apple, pecan, or pumpkin pie, or other tasty sweet things)
Let me know what you recommend!
No use asking the Brit over here for thanksgiving recipies ;)

You never really got into the July 4th celebration either
Francesca, Williams-Sonoma has a lot of great Thanksgiving recipes! I've done their mashed potato one before and it was delicious :)

I love Thanksgiving :love5:
Aussie Pumpkin Soup is the best! You definitely should try it. You can find all kinds of recipes online (unless we have any Aussies around with family recipes... hint hint hint)

Autumn recipes are fine too!
Mikel- You mean the whole world doesn't celebrate our independence? ;)
Dana- GREAT website! I think I will use one of their potato recipes, and have saved a number of other ones as well. Cool!
Eimi- sounds yummy! I have a friend making soup, but I'll keep that in mind to try out at some point.
