Title: Call Center woes
Post by: Mikel on November 22, 2008, 12:34:31 PM
Co-worker had a call a bit ago...

Background:  We work in the Tech Support call center for the cable company

Caller was calling about a sick child for whom she was baby sitting.  Knew that we provided the phone service, so called us instead of 911.  It took the agent five minutes to convince the person that she really needed to call 911, not the cable company!

AARRGGHH!!!!!

Wow.  That sounds like some of the stupid stories I've heard about people who don't know how computers work.  One of my favorites:

    * Customer: "I stuck something in my printer, and now it doesn't work."
    * Tech Support: "What did you put in it?"
    * Customer: "It's a tortilla."
    * Tech Support: "Uh. How did you come to have a tortilla stuck in your printer?"
    * Customer: "I own a tortilla business. I thought it would be cool to print my logo on a tortilla."

One thing I've learned over the years is that all all those tech jokes you see on-line are in fact true.

Just like the lessons I learned driving a cab.  The TV show TAXI was not a sit-com.  It was a documentary

I remember my tech support days.  I'm so glad I don't have to do that anymore!
