Title: Medical Methodologies Question
Post by: kurt on October 08, 2008, 05:26:52 PM
Well, it's awfully quiet lately...how about an annoying n00b with questions to liven things up???

(yaaaaay)  :albino:

Ok, so here's the question: How feasible would it be for Pernese healers to use what would be considered holistic or non-conventional medicine?  I mean, they're already pretty deep into herbology.  What about chiropractic techniques (they might not call them chiropractic, but would they do spinal adjustments?)  Also possibly pressure point techniques, massage therapy, etc?

How much of this sort of thing would be reasonable to assume would be incorporated into the healing practices?

I'm fairly sure massage therapy, at least, has been incorporated; I recall seeeing it in the FAQs as a potential Healer specialty. I imagine it's used for similar reasons to here- pain relief, as an aid for depression, to help stretch injured muscles (or as a therapy after physical therapy), etc.

I know massage therapy is in use and S'jarin at DFW happens to be a practitioner.

Anybody want to weigh in on the possibility of spinal adjustments and/or pressure points?  Lymphatic pump?

Spinal adjustments possibly with the aid of dolphin sonar...  Pressure points, most likely.  Lymphatic pump, probably not.
