As already stated in the Vix & Jane New Admin thread I said my idea of heaven would be free stationery. Don't ask why, I couldn't explain if I tried, but my idea of heaven would be owning a stationery store (or scrapbooking store for that matter) where I got to try all the new pens, papers, markers etc, for free!!! Well, you get the idea.
So what would be your idea of heaven? :sunny:
My idea of heaven is a green homestead.
A farm to breed heirloom animals and plants and gives them away to other of like mind in a desperate race to save those races before they disappear.
Off the grid and solar powered. Wooden barns that require no heating and a straw bale house where homemade living can be taught (cheese making anyone)
A forest that is managed instead of exploited.
A place where if you want to teach someone you don't have agencies on your back saying "you can't do this!" because of dubious reasons ranging from ethnic background to social income.
:rr:
Office Max or CompUSA with an unlimited tab that I never have to pay back. :D
Well, when I'm not playing with lists, it's books for me. (I have lists of books, too, which will probably not be a surprise to anyone.)
In this case heaven would be a book loft, somewhere away from the main part of the house with my favourite books (not necessarily all of them - the bulk can stay in the library). Mainly somewhere to sit comfortably and read. My friends in England have a reading alcove (a window seat) half way up their stairs so it looks out into the canopy of the trees around their house. The seat is at floor/landing level, and cushioned. I want that sort of feel in my book loft so I'll need a dormer window, I suppose.
A fabric shop all to myself. And the money to pay for it and all the fabric I want! :)
Let's see. . .
Being able to eat whatever I want without worrying about weight or whether I'll be able to sleep.
A day off work.
To travel somewhere.
To be able to stay awake for an unlimited amount of time and do whatever I want during that awake time.
Can my heaven be if Jane's book nook is full of my books? :D

Only if you read quietly in a corner so we can share the room!

I think Bree means that you purchase all of her books and stock your book nook with them. LOL

She'll even sign them for you.

Eeeek! They have s-e-x in them! Eeeek!

*falls off chair laughing*
I knew your reaction would be something like that.
And what, pray tell, is wrong with sex?

As far as Jane is concerned it should be kept in the bedroom. All her books are either kids books or circa 1960's.
She likes to live in a more romantic era.

Yeah, what she said. :geek:
Well, I can't say I completely disagree with her. ;-)
My idea of heaven is a large quarter horse breeding farm in the rolling green hills of Ireland.
I want to move to Ireland, raise and train horses, then bring them back to the states to race and win big money.
To go along with that, would be a big, sprawling ranch house full of kids, friends, and family....all speaking with an Irish lilt!

Now, now, not ALL of them.
... well, most of them. :D But Some of them have very, very little. LOL
Clancey, I want to move with you! We can pitch in together and buy a big house and land!
Lets go Amanda! Im all for that!!! :)
Horses, friends, and Ireland....
...and Bree's books :)
NOW THAT is Heaven!
Awesome! Email me details and we can start working on it! It will be much easier to keep a house clean if we all share the duties! WHOO!
My idea of heaven... to have one of those private libraries where the walls were loaded for bear with all my favorite books and reference materials, with one of those big desks that have plenty of room to lay out all those print offs and heavy reference books that I always refer to for stories or research. The computer would have unlimited memory and free connections to all the research databases in existence for easy research, and a color laser printer that never runs out of ink or paper (ditto for the stapler with staples, and the shelves for shelf space...). To top it off there would be a cozy corner with a well stuffed wingback chair or loveseat and endtable with a reading lamp and a stereo so I could curl up with my favorite books for hours, and a window looking out on some woods with a little spring for when I want to let my mind wander.
(Yes, I dream about this room daily, every time I have to sit down and work on my stuff somewhere where I don't have access to everything I want or need, and when I'm trying to balance my laptop and several textbooks without a desk while writing a twenty page paper or working on my novel.) All dark woods and rich fabrics and cushy chairs, maybe a fireplace... sigh.
Oh, and a lock on the door. :)
