I don't know if any of you know, but I used to play Judo. Since the gym where I went lost the women's class teacher, they no longer have a women's class. One of the sensei at the gym is a 5th degree in Aikido as well and teaches at a dojo. We found out about it through him and last May/June I started taking Aikido.
Anyway, occasionally, this sensei and I will incorporate judo into our classes. Tonight we did so. I not only managed to get him into a hold, he couldn't get out of it!
This is really amazing considering that while I'm a brown belt in Aikido, I'm only a white belt in Judo.
FEAR ME! MUWAHAHAHAHA!
My son goes to judo (he has a yellow belt) His friend goes to Aikido. Tomorrow his friend is going to have a friend-day in his Aikido-class and my son is going to go there. He plans to wear his judo-oufit. I'm curious to found out how it goes, since judo is more aggressive than aikido.
Aikido and Judo actually compliment each other very well.
How old are they?
eight- not far from nine.
Oh wow, that's really young. My senseis refuse to let anyone younger than 12 do Aikido because of all the locks and the fact they can hurt the development in children younger than that age. :-/
