I have not pulled out my snow boots and snow pants all winter, and now it's starting to snow and they are saying we might get a few inches... In March!
When I was about 5 and living in Spokane we got snow on Mother's Day in May... The Northwest can get some wacky winter weather from time to time XD
We've had very little snow this winter and I like it that way.
It snowed in TEXAS on March 6th. We got six inches of snow! I have pictures of the children in it but I haven't put them up as of yet. :)
I'm trying to figure out why you're complaining, we had a white Easter, and there's talk of more snow being possible next week....

Well, I'm not complaining really, it was just surprising. I wish we got more snow down here.
The only complaint I have was that the schools didn't close until 2pm and by that time there was about 3-4 inches already no the ground. It took Kurt 2 hours to make a 20-30 minute drive home.
:P Snow in March is de rigeur where I live. And nobody is surprised if it snows in April or May, but we sure do complain when it does. It's even snowed in June.
And man, a snow day for 3-4 inches!? If only I'd been so lucky when I was a kid. :P The schools closed if there was MAYBE a foot of new snow. Or if it was -35C. Ah well, different strokes for different folks - we're pretty used to driving in shitty weather so 3-4 inches is a cautious day, but not impossible.
As I'm from Michigan, I'm praying for the snow to GO AWAY!! It's mostly gone, and we have a couple days of 50 degree weather coming up. I have two words....

I'd go with the 3-4 inches being difficult driving conditions if you aren't used to it, or don't know how to drive in snow/ice. I still have my snow/bad weather kit in the back of my car - blanket, extra coat, walking boots, waterproofs, torch, food. That gets tossed in the boot in October and will stay there until the end of April.
As for snow days... well I can only remember 2 days with no school in 13 years of school and that was caused by there being no heating on site after the temp had gone down to -12c overnight and the pipes had frozen. The other day was the day after the big storm that wasn't a hurricane(!) in '87
well considering that we're lucky if it snows even once a year, we just aren't used to those conditions. And people here barely know how to drive in good weather, much less bad.
It was so weird. We had a blizzard this morning, but none of if stuck. Then it all became rain, and now it's nice and sunny. How odd...
They called the snow we had earlier a blizzard but I didn't consider it one. I used to go to school in Illinois, so while I've never seen a blizzard, it has snowed as hard as it did here and I don't think it was really a blizzard.
I've seen blizzards -- they're not pleasant. And if the snow disappears quickly, it's usually to the tune of flooding.

We had snow over the weekend and then it became warm and sunny. I was actually able to walk out in a sleeveless top with no coat... then it started to hail...

we had hail the night before last. It woke up the children and it was 3 hours before they went back to sleep!
I had to walk home in hail. It really smarts when it pelts your face.

Well.... April showers, sleets, snows and hails... Then it rained some more!
I had to drive in sleet and pounding rain the other day. Not really a big thing -- at least not anywhere else in the world. However, I needed a birthday gift and headed onto the Capital Beltway in that weather. Not fun at all.
Im kinda sad. The cherry blossoms are at their peak today and its supposed to rain and wash half of them away :(

*g* Just an update. It's been snowing for three days straight and we have at least a foot of the white stuff up here! Which is too bad - all the migratory birds are back and freezing their poor little toes, and the weekend before was almost +20C so some brave little snowdrops bloomed.
Alas.
It's supposed to be pretty warm here today. We had bad storms last week and the week before last. We ran from a wall cloud the week before last. Loads of fun. NOT.
