Title: The Best Martini
Post by: PastMember on March 24, 2008, 09:56:49 PM
So, for Matt and I's anniversary, I tried a new drink. It was a white chocolate martini, and I was in heaven. Have you ever had one of those before?

No.  Was it dry?  I tend to not like the dry drinks.  :)

No, it's really smooth. They use baileys, cream, chocolate, and something else I can't remember. It feels really good on the throat when it goes down, better than milk :D

It's to die for, and so is another cream martini that's called a mint chocolate chip martini. mmm...I think I might get one, now that I have the craving.

I'm not big on that much mint, but I might try a chocolate one.  I've always been told that martinis were dry.  I guess I should actually take some time and try one some day. :)

I believe traditional martini's are dry.  Traditional martini's are vodka and dry vermouth.  But since vodka has a pretty neutral flavor, you can mix it with all kind of different flavors and liquors, pour it in a martini glass and call it a martini.  Thats the trend now - coming up with "specialty" martinis using either other flavored liquors or flavored vodka.  Basically, add a splash of vodka and put it in the right glass and ANYTHING can be a martini.

I don't like alcohol at all.  Do they have a non-alcoholic version?

Jane, I only like alcohol when it's really sweet.  You know...juice with a kick. ;-)

A virgin martini... I think that's an oxymoron  :laughing6:

They might exist though, but that alcohol is part of the flavor. It just wouldn't me the same.

And you are the two who've sworn off coffee??

Well, to be honest, I don't drink that much either.

I get a drink...every other month?  If that.  I don't count the wine at communion. :)

But coffee has either that really bitter, or really sweet taste. But drinks! There's such a variety.

As for how often. I'll go through a wave, and then I'll be dry for months.

You people drink coffee everyday :p
