What was the first PBEM in which you ever played?
For me, it was a fantasy PBEM called Parvyn. I loved it there. Unfortunately, the owner disappeared. She had mentioned one time that she had some sort of disease. It's sad to think that she may have disappeared because she fell terminally ill. :(
High Reaches Weyr. It was a round robin which didn't really suit a person on a non-US time zone. I moved on fairly quickly.
Worlds Apart, a LotR role-playing forum. :)
My first was Trade Winds Weyr. But there was only one active member, so it was hard to actually write a story when there was hardly anyone involved.
So I switched to the Triads :)
However, the person that I wrote with was really nice and we had a great writing chemistry together. It's a shame it never worked out.
Triad was my first and only PBeM. I wanted something to help me keep up with my English while living and working in Japan and I knew these kinds of clubs existed. Pern was always a world that had fascinated me, and a world that I knew would be a lot of fun to play around in, so I kind of stumbled in here and have been playing in it ever since :)
Sea Breeze Weyr. I don't know it exisits anymore.
Ridges of Pern. I wasn't there long before I was recruited for Dragonsfall (at that time by invitation only). Then I left Ridges to move over with the four founders of Pern Shadows where I was one of the original members.
Triad! I've only done round-robin in the past.
I started out in the previously mentioned MLML MageWars group, and when that flamed out I moved over to my much beloved Sanctuary, Maine - an Anita Blake based pbem. I met SO many good people there, and it had a good 5+ year run during which I learned how to run one of those things. :P I think I joined Londar then too, and eventually took over that as well. There were a few others, and now I'm here. This is my first Pern pbem, though.
