Capricious- a subject who is erratic or acts on a whim.
I just found this word a few days ago while reading one of those essays that explains a subject in twenty pages when it could be explained or argued in eight.
... He was a Harvard Professor...
Anyway, I need to expand my minuscule vocabulary. What is your favorite word or the day?
Lugubrious - Sorrowful, melancholy.
I learned this word thanks to an online comic. Does anyone read Ozzie and Millie? Well, Millie used it and it was obvious she didn't quite get it. I think she knew what it meant, but it was obvious that she wasn't feeling sorrowful or melancholy. Oh well. :-D
Piscatory - in relation to fish
For example - "a piscatoral smell"
I learned that one attempting to read Dickens XD
I find I have to take Dickens in small doses. Kind of like Melville. Oliver Twist is particularly this way. It might be because I have children so it affects me more, but I had a hard time reading it in large amounts because I just felt so horrible for Oliver and he just didn't get a break, you know?
