Am I the only one, or are there other's here that watch Battlestar Galactica? The new one that is...
I do! And I LOVE IT TO DEATH! :D
I think I even put some BSG avatars in the gallery.
I do, but I'm not sure when the new series will start here in the UK. So please try not to give spoilers, I could be lucky and have four days to wait like with Lost, or it could be months....
Unless I give in of course and find a helpful 'source'
Emma-
Have you seen the third season yet, or are you waiting for season four like the rest of us? If you have not caught up yet I'll check with my fiance. He knows the sites to visit so you can see the Third Season if you haven't already.
As far as the four season goes I am hearing that it is starting either in March, or April 4th... It's killing me!!!
I just did some research. Scifi channels main site is showing the full episodes for the end of season three. I think they'll start showing the episodes for season four too once it starts.
Here's that link for ya:
http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/video/index.php (http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/video/index.php)
The third series has been shown here. But I have no idea when Series four is to be shown,, It isn't on Sci-Fi here , it's on another channel that co-finances it, and there is some sort of agreement in place that it must be shown in the US first. Sky One's website is not showing a date for the new series yet, all I know is that it'll be 9pm on a Tuesday ;)
So then it comes down to this then if you have gone through the third season. Who the frak is the final cylon?!?!?!?!??!?
I can only speculation, and right now my bet is riding on Laura Roslin...
Did you watch Razor, Stasha?
I want it to be Kendra Shaw!!!
Yes, I did watch "Razor," and it would be interesting if it turned out to be Kendra Shaw, and even more intriguing if was Admiral Cain.
Apparently Ron Moore gave out a "hint" on the final cylon and it had to do with a picture on the cover of a magazine. Warning: Don't click the link if you don't want any potential spoilers!
[link removed do to technical difficulty]
As I said before, it's all just speculation, but still... Laura Roslin! Could you imagine how plot impacting that could be if it was her? She does show signs that she might be, such as having the same dream as Caprica 6 and Sharon Agathon. Also she reacted the the song that triggered the four of the five final cylons when she collapsed. Could it be?
Me! *Waives furiously!*
But we are seen only season 1 and 2 here in Finland, impatiently waiting for season 3 ! :bounce:
I got season 3 on DVD this passed week. I forgot how intense it is. Now I sit patiently waiting for season four. Two more Fridays... just two more...
I would totally watch it, but if we watch the telly, it's via DVDs. We get one station, it's fuzzy, half the time it's in Spanish, and sometimes it has things we really don't want to watch. Far too risqué, if you know what I mean.
Wahey! UK transmission of series four to start on 8/4/2008, I think that puts it on a similar transmission delay to Lost.... So if you happen to watch it, please please warn me not to look at any threads on it until after 10pm Tuesday my time (which will be 5pm Eastern as our clocks go forward for summer this weekend)
Emma, you're more ahead on Lost than we are. We just watched the first episode of Season Three last night. :-D

So BSG does not start until August for you?
I could never wait that long. I'd be cruising on the BSG website with scifi hunting down the newest episode before I'd wait that long. either that or buying it from Itunes.
On the day of the season premier we are going to have a "Frak Party" at my friend's house. As you can imagine this means a party that you watch BSG. All I know is that there is going to be BSG and the best chicken known to man :D
No, the 8th of April.... It's you silly Americans writing the date in an illogical fashion!
I was never much of a Battlestar fan, but I loved Stargate! Alas! We haven't had television service for about two years now, so I've seen none of the new episodes. I wish SciFi would do something like what ABC does when it makes all of its shows available to watch on their website the day after they debut. I have gone through horrible withdrawals.

I never saw the series, but enjoy the movie. I would probably like the series for Stargate.
Did anyone here ever watch Quantum Leap?

Have you seen the remade BSG? :bounce:
I've seen bits of the remade series, and it looked interesting, but I never did get around to actually checking it out.
If it is still the same as it was two years ago, then Stargate should be on the Sci Fi channel on Fridays. I'd take a look at gateworld.net if you're interested in it. They have transcripts of almost every episode I believe.
I loved Quantum Leap! That series was what initially drew me into the science fiction genre, though I was about seven or eight when I first saw it :)
I used to watch it. It's out on video now. It's on my Amazon wish list, but no one has bought it for me. I can't complain though. I at least have the first seasons of He-Man, She-Ra, Two of Gargoyles, the first of Smurfs, and the first of The Muppets. :)
For the new BSG, you really have to start from the beginning. I'm sure once the series is over they will have it on Scifi on a day to day bases, like X-files, and Sliders... I loved Sliders. Yummy Jerry O'Connell :)

I don't know why, but for some reason I never really got to see much of Sliders when it was on. I remember one episode where they came back and saw the news article about OJ Simpson so they thought that they must be in the wrong place, so they slid again - but it was actually where they were trying to reach. It seemed like a show I really would enjoy.
I admit it, I have the first 3 series of Sliders on DVD. If Sci-fi here were to show it, I'd be using my DVD recorder to get the rest of it! Although it did go downhill after the killed off Arturo.
I'm always well behind everyone else on these things. I just finished watching the Firefly series. If I continue with the current time lag, I'll probably start into BSG some time in 2010.
Hey Vix, we're about as behind as you are. We didn't watch Firefly until last year ourselves. :)
I've watched a few episodes of Sliders. Did anyone watch that new Startrek series they tried to start?

I love Gargoyles. That was one of my favorite shows when I was younger. That and Batman :)

The last Star Trek show that I really got into was Voyager. But I think Deep Space Nine was the best.

Matt bought Firefly for Christmas two years ago and we watched it. I loved it because it was so different from all the other Scifi shows that I had seen, and it actually made a lot of sense with how they presented it. I mean, when we start going out into space, and inhabiting knew worlds it could very well be like exploring the new frontier all over again. I just loved the concept, and then of course there are the memorable quotes
"She has a name too! I call her Vera"
"They have a special hell reserved for child molesters and people who talk in the movie theaters."
"I'll be in my bunk."
Unfortunately it was way ahead of its time, they did not air the episodes in order, and it started in the time slot where they put shows to die, so it only lasted fourteen episodes.
Firefly shouldn't have died. They were stupid to handle it the way they did!
Quote from: "Amanda N"Firefly shouldn't have died. They were stupid to handle it the way they did!
Yeah, trust me I know, and then when they made the movie Weaton killed off Shepherd before we could find out what the big secret was that he was hiding (Matt thinks he was an operative), and he killed off Wash for the fun of it.
Damn you Joss Weaton!
And now they're making a second movie.

Something tells me that Wheaton didn't think he'd be able to make another movie, so tied up some loose ends, leaving others loose. Yeah, I'm not happy about the deaths, but I guess there's nothing to be done. The movie was good, at least, despite those.
Yeah, I really liked how they played River, and I loved that Cally and the Doctor were able to hook up. When they really started to play with the chemistry of those two you knew they had to hook up. But they did change Mal's character a bit. He was not the same quick witted yet buffoonish character that he originally was in the series. I actually like the old Mal.

Really? I didn't notice that much. Of course, we could just be seeing another side of him there. I think he's more capable than he lets on. :) I never really thought of him as a buffoon though...
Wow with all this talk of Firefly, I want to watch it again now :D
I want to own the series. We own the movie. :)
Oh Firefly. I love that show _so much_. I am highly amused by how many Firefly people came over to Stargate afterwards.
On the Stargate topic, I adore SG-1 and Atlantis.
For the Treks, my favorite was always DS9, with Voyager up there too. Enterprise though was total s***, up until s4 when they took on the Reeves-Stevens as authors. Judy and Gar had written 3 best-selling (as in top of the NYTimes list) hardcover Star Trek novels already plus a best-selling paperback trilogy for DS9, so unlike some of the other writers, they really understood and loved Trek; they added most of the decent stuff of the 4th season.

Oh man, I loved Star Trek. I think Voyager was my favourite, but DS9 was a close second. I have a soft spot for Sisko and Jadzia.

The only good thing about Enterprise was Trip! Than man's yummy! And my kid brother got me a signed photo for my birthday a couple of years ago.

I actually never saw Enterprise. It came on after we stopped watching so much television. Perhaps I'll be able to borrow the DVDs from school and check it out sometime.
Yummmmmm Firefly.... I LOVED that series. My neighbor introduced it to me and then I bought my family the series for Christmas two years ago and they got hooked.
I don't know why he doesn't make another SERIES of it. I mean SOMEONE has to be interested. At least one in the same world would be rather interesting. I thought the world he created was AWESOME. I rarely watch TV shows, but that's one I would have watched faithfully.

I dunno. Maybe he tried and no one else would do it.
The problem really was that Firefly didn't get ratings when it was a show, but the DVD sold extremely well. Part of the problem was the way that the station scheduled and handled Firefly, but even so, that might put other stations off on buying it.
I think, at one time, The Sci Fi channel over here was considering buying it, but I've not heard anything in a while.
I started to read the last couple posts but came across a spoiler and realized that I couldn't read the rest: I received the series for Christmas and just got around to watching it, but then ordered the movie from Amazon and am awaiting its delivery.
Eeeeek! Sorry Vix, I didn't mean to do that.
Rumour has it that the BBC are talking to Tony Head about a possible 'Buffy' spinoff based in the UK. Provisionally to be titled 'Ripper' and based in the Southe West.
That's been doing the rounds for a while, allegedly the writers involved would be those from Torchwood/Dr Who.

Hey, cool!
You know, I really want to see Angel, but they don't have it at the UNT school. :(
I have a vampire Angel Puppet. He's a limited edition, and he was a birthday present. He's only been out of the box once to check his certificate of authenticity. One day it could be worth an awful lot, but he's too cute to sell.

Oh man I want one!
I loved that show so much. But after the third season it just was not the same with out Angel... :(

It was still good, but yes, I was rather sad that he was gone. I still want to see the spinoff show though. :)
After reading what you guys have been saying about Firefly, I really want to see it now :)
Quote from: "Dana"After reading what you guys have been saying about Firefly, I really want to see it now :)
Oh do, do! It's a really great show, even if it was cut short.
It is really well done, and it's different, which I think is part of what makes it so good.
Vix, I'm sure, can also vouch for it's awesomeness, even though I accidentally fed her a spoiler. Sorry about that BTW, when you said you finished Firefly, I thought you also meant you finished the movie too.
Vix, if it makes you feel better some one once gave me the spoiler for Sixth Sense... *poke poke*
Can't be me -- I don't remember ever seeing Sixth Sense.
And yes, Firefly truly is an awesome series. If not, I'd not have ordered the movie.

You'd like it, Dana. There's wistfulness involved :love3:

No, it was some one else in my sophomore class. I rented the movie and was excited to see it, and the guy told me on purpose because he's just an a**.
Also, I'm watching Firefly right now. I forgot how long the first episode is. It's like a mini movie.

I'm rather dense. I didn't get what the guy was until it was revealed. Usually I figure that sort of thing out earlier in the movie. Oh well.
Amanda, I didn't know either until the end. But you know what, sometimes figuring out stuff too early ruins the magic of the movie, you know?

Yes, sometimes it can. I was rather surprised with that one I must say. :) I really like the movie. We really should get it some time...
