I was working on making some character concept sketches, and I came across an awesome online tool you can use to combine features from various faces and make new ones.
This is great for those of us who CAN'T draw. :p

You can select a nose, eyes, chin etc from the pictures, then resize/move them around until you got what you like.
Some of the ladies on my blog lists were making trading cards for their characters, so I used the editor to make two faces and put them into trading cards for some of mine:

Fun, huh? Go make your own!
:: sighs :: I can't get it to do anything. Apparently 'some assembly required'.
To make it work, you have to click to start with a random image. Then you click on something--eyes, chin, forehead so it's lit up, and then you search the images and find a face you want to take those features from. :)
It took me a half our to get going, but then it was awesome!
I managed to play around with it a little, but still can't figure out some. It's addictive though. I ended up messing aorund with it untli after midnight last night. LOL
I got a little further along but all I got was ugly pictures of blokes with awful noses and funny lips. I shall work on it some more. :laughing5:
I was trying to clone the hot guy from the gym. ^_^
Ok, so I was just fiddling around on the forums and found this posting. I can't get it to work. Anyone willing to help me? :)
That's pretty cool, I played with it for a bit, all you've really got to do is flip between the two screens for every option. I made a pretty close B'vin. The only thing I couldn't figure out was how to merge the skin tones. I had a really tan forehead but a white chin *lol*
It's still not working for me. I wonder if it doesn't like Firefox.
Did you start with random face?
Yes. I'm using Firefox, so I'm wondering if it doesn't like Firefox.
I tried using that program, but it did not work for me. I think I'll stick to paper and pencil for my character portraits.
I loaded up IE to try it out, but there doesn't appear to be anything which will do 'wide-eyed and happy, with a round face' without looking like 'scary possessed demon child'...
I use Firefox and it works for me. What's the next problem after you've started with random face?
I got a whole face out of it, but like Cali couldn't seem to deal with the skin tone problem. Once I have it done, I suppose I could email it to myself and fix it up in photoshop.
What it really lacks, though, is curly hair!
And any actual variation in skin colour.
I took quite some time to realise that the first thing you needed to do was to go to the 'image search' tab.
First thing I do is click on random face. Then I go to image search. I highlight hair and forehead, then put in the information regarding gender, age, and so on. Then I click on search. Then nothing comes up.
Ok, so I tried lowering the amount of information and I got one picture. I tried changing to male and nothing. I must say, I'm rather disappointed.
There aren't actually that many pictures - what happens if you leave everything set to 'all' or 'both'?
EDIT: Doh, crossposted with you thinking of that :)
Yeah. I finally figured it out. Oh well. I'll stick to drawings. :)
I only use it for the base of a picture. ;) Skin, hair, everything else...I can do that in photoshop!
Oh, you're back Bree!
I'm not that good. I couldn't do all of that!
What a cool site! I think I'll use it next time I want to create a persona (which will probably be within the next month.)
