Does everyone recognize all of the knots? That is, are they taught them in Harper classes?
My question relates specifically to my artist Harper, Benar, who has limited experience with dragons/weyrlife. Would he be able to recognize a Dragonhealer knot? Or not?

Well, I think everyone would have been taught the knots, but someone outside the Weyr might not have been taught or really paid much attention to knots found solely within a Weyr (like dragonhealers, wing designations and so forth). It's plausible that someone might have covered them and promptly forgot the ones that they are not regularly exposed to. Just because someone's taught something doesn't necessarily mean they'd remember (as my students test scores reflect XD).
However, being that the Harper Hall is now located in the Weyr for the last turn, I would think they would have been asked to review basic knots found in the Weyr. Whether or not he paid attention, or whether or not he is good at retaining/recalling those details is up to you.
