Title: Ice Cream Flavours
Post by: Jane on January 09, 2008, 07:09:29 PM
Can you tell the temperature here is coming up again?

I've just discovered Cookies and Cream ice cream, but my usual favourite is Rum and Raisin (though I can't buy that except at a dairy in a cone).

Or perhaps Tiramisu.  Or Jellytip.

Nothing with citrus flavours in it (I don't think citrus and milk products go together), or bits that have to be chewed!

What's your favourite ice cream flavour?

Ben and Jerries - Phish Food and Chocolate Fudge Brownie.  The flavour in my freezer currently though is Strawberry Cheesecake

I think that I had a taste of the peanut butter cup ice cream that I bought last week -- my daughter appears to have finished it off.

My favorites are mint chocolate chip, mint cookies and cream, moose tracks, and chocolate moose tracks.

Do ya'll have Marble Slab type ice cream shops? They put a dip (or two--or three!) on a piece of marble and mix in whatever you want. :icescream:

My favorite is the Sweet Cream Ice Cream with a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup mixed in. MMMmmmm....

But alas, it is the beginning of January and I am on the diet of all diets! So, no Marble Slab for me for a while!!  :sad3:

I'm going to get assaulted here, but.... I don't really like ice cream. It's too creamy.

I do like gelato, though, since it has a water base rather than a milk one. I like lemon, lime, and orange best (do you see a theme?) but I also enjoy kiwi and raspberry. Also, it was -20 or so here today and WAY too cold for that sort of stuff!

Mine is dependant on the company.  From Ben and Jerry's I love From Russia With Buzz (White Russian flavored ice cream with chocolate and espresso bean chips).  From Godiva I like White Chocolate Rasberry.  From Baskin and Robins I like Daquari Ice.  From Dreyers its the Blueberry Cheesecake.

But if I could only have on flavor until the day I died, it would be chocolate chip mint.  I don't care what company makes it, I would suvive solely on Chocolate Chip Mint if I could.

Mmmmm.  Ice cream.  In the States, I'll usually get anything with Chocolate.  Moose Tracks is especially good.

Gelato is one of the things I miss most about Italy, especially because you're expected to get 2 or 3 flavors.  That's perfect for me, because I can never settle on just one flavor.  In Siena, my favorites were Nutella and Baci.  I had amazing cinnamon ice cream in San Gimignano, and everywhere else I'd usually do a combination of fruit flavors, including banana.

Yum!

Nutella gelato? That sounds extremely tempting!

i think i love pretty much all ice cream  :cuinlove:  ... except maybe Banana flavored... i don't really care for banana-flavored anything except real bananas ;)

But top 5?

1.  Mint Chocolate Chip, Eimi, I concur!
2.  Moose Tracks
3.  Peach
4.  Cookies and Cream
5.  Rainbow Sherbet   :happy10:

I think that Sherbet is different from gelato... more like sorbet?  LOVE raspberry sorbet...

When i lived in Holland, i couldn't get enough of the pear and coconut gelatos... oooh, pinapple was good too!

The absolutely most disgust  that was a Stone Cold Creamery experiment that just didn't quite work.

My weirdest was shrimp flavored and soy sauce flavored.  Yeah, I've blocked out those memories XD

Ok, what is "Moose Tracks"?  I don't think I've ever seen that in Washington State.

There are several versions of Moose Tracks, all of which incorporate a copyrighted "Moose Tracks fudge."

I like Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream, Peanut butter flavors are good Godiva's dark chocolate is wonderful, and Moose tracks (or Bunny Tracks, which is similar) are really good, but I think I concur that mint chocolate chip is one of the best flavors.

However, my all time favorite flavor is Edy's Double Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream. Mmmmmm!

BTW - since everyone was talking about Moose Tracks so much, I made sure to go out and buy some.  I have to say, the fudge they use in it is pretty yummy!

And where did my White Chocolate Rasberry Ice Cream go?  Is it no more?  I want to cry... :'(

I'm going to have to agree with Emma and say PHISH FOOD. That stuff is sinful.

You can't spread your arms here without hitting an Amish ice-cream-business-on-the-side farm. They make a wicked chocolate-marshmallow.

How I do miss ice cream.  :cherry:

Gingerbread!  (Like gingerbread men.)  Just discovered this flavour.  Soft chewy lumps of gingerbread in vanila-ish ice cream.  (I think it has a bit of ginger flavour.)
