Title: What're you listening to?
Post by: PastMember on July 26, 2007, 08:40:05 AM
I'm sure there was a thread for this, but I can't find it and well, that was the old 'What're you listening to' thread anyway. Here's a shiney new one!

Right now, I'm listening to "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie. One of the few songs of hers that she doesn't spell something in! I like the song though! It's pretty.  :flower:

So? What're you listening to? Music? PC fan? Coworkers squabbling over the last bagel in the break room?

Right now it's the local "News at Noon."

As to Fergie's spelling, it would be nice if she spelled correctly.

I've got "Girlfriends" by Avril Lavigne on.

I was all "Eww Lavigne she's gross," but then I heard this song and now I think she's ok.  She's not my FAVORITE artist by any means.  But she's alright.

And now its "Angel" by the Corrs.

I love Avril Lavigne! Especially her new stuff. "Girlfriend" is just a fun song.

I'm listening to "Sober" by Kelly Clarkson now.

I have "Big Girls Don't Cry" by Fergie in my head ALL THE TIME. Mostly because I like the video. ;)

"Girlfriend's" video is great!  I really love that one!

Right now I'm listening to the sounds of  my apartment's wall paper being torn up by the contruction guys.  *sigh*  They're repairing all the damage they did when broke a pipe upstairs and then left for the evening  :geek:

I'm trying to down them out with my music though.  Right now it's N*E*R*D's "She Wants To Move".
Title:
Post by: PastMember on July 26, 2007, 03:32:23 PM
I've never seen the video. I don't watch a lot of music videos though.

Right now, "Whine Up" by Kat DeLuna featuring Elephant Man is playing. It always makes me wish I could dance worth a crap! lol

Cailee has Dora the Explorer on in the loungeroom and Mark's in the bedroom listening to our State Premier hand in his resignation, so I'm between a rock and a hard place.

Oh well, off to the shower - where I can sing. ;)

*thinks*

Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head or U and Ur Hand... tough choice. :-

When I'm at work (or at home and on the computer while not watching tv) I stream XM Satellite radio on my computer. Much more awesome selections than on regular radio.

Right now, I'm watching/listening to a documentary on The Science Channel on how plate tectonics have shaped the face of earth and the organisms that live on it.

You know I was watching something on volcanoes, which are caused by plate tectonics, on the History Channel last night!  Amazing how we're all connected... ;)

You'll like this: my daughter has been asked to take on an extra task while she's in Korea and is now recording a series of CDs to teach popular songs in English. Everything from "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" to "Starry Starry Night" (these were the examples she gave). She records a line, then repeats it, so that the students listening can repeat the line as well.

lol  Last (school) year, our graduating students had a class singing contest.  Three of the classes had to learn a song in English and then perform it for everyone and a panel voted on which class won.  I had to record all the songs in a Karaoke box for the kids to listen to and practice, and the song the teachers performed for them too.  I think its rather scary that they wanted to use me as an example of an English singer  :geek:

I bet there's a lot of people in Korea who would love to learn songs that way!  Good for her!

Oh, I don't care one way or another about her as a person except to think she's kind of a major idiot to let herself go nuts and not think that something bad's gonna come from it, or whatever it is she's thinking. I just like her songs.

Right now though, the Rise Against song "Prayer of the Refugee" is playing. I love this song.

Take a look around
Tell me what you see

Who you want to be

It's ok, to be a little broken
Everybody's broken, in this life
It's ok, to feel a little broken
Everybody's broken, your alright
Just keep on going
Eyes wide open
Everybody's broken

Currently I'm listening just the humm of computer and air-conditioner.
But this morning I was listening The poet and the Pendulum from Nightwish's new album!  :bounce:

The CD came to our mail box yesterday and I've listened it thru once now. Dark Passion Play indeed! You can hear that the band has got some rough times lately.
My favourites so far are:  Bye Bye Beautiful and Amaranth. (Amaranth has been playing in radio a lot, so it's not new).
The new singer...well, she isn't Tarja and doesn't have classically trained soprano, but she is a professional with beautiful voice. After you get used to her voice, there's no complains from me.
 :cooler:

:rate9:  the only minus point from full ten comes because I think Tuomas got bit too carried away with "his" sinfony and being bit too bombastic time to time.

My parakeet and the new MP3 CD of AM's Freedom's Choice I'm test running for my library... They just ordered it as an experimental format and I volunteered to write up the troubleshooting sheet for the staff and public.

That and the parakeet screaming at me because I turned off Murder She Wrote.

Sigh.
