I was 4 hours and 50 minutes in the queue for the book fair (charity book sale) today. I bought four books.

Well, I have to say, I've never really qued for anything except the typical, movies, rides, tickets to a game. But never for hours. I think the longest I've ever qued would be an hour at the Aichi World Fair, and that was for the train to go back to my hotel after the grounds had closed...
But I have to show my ignorance of British English... I didn't know what the word "que" meant until I came to Japan. I was standing in the line for the payphones at the hotel my first night in Tokyo were we were all staying during orientation and I was the only person in line waiting. Someone walked up to me and asked "Is this the que?" And I, confused, said "Well, I'm just waiting for the phones..." She blinked a couple times and said "You're queing for the phones then?" I got it then and nodded and said "Yes, I think I'm queing."

I can top that: six and half hours for student rush tickets to see a Broadway show. It was worth it though because that night the rush tickets were for front-row center -- the stage was three feet in front of us, and the actors passed within inches of us. All that, and it only cost $20 when the normal price would have been $111.50.

And I recently queued for graduation. ;) It was actually quite funny because they put 800 grads in a room with a bunch of signs based on school and degree level, and then told us: "So... alphabatize yourselves!"
None of us wanted to think since, you know, graduation... it was a very slow process. And even though I'm a G, I ended up in the middle of the H's somehow anyway.
I am bad at queuing unless it is a FIFO queue data structure. :D
Roller coasters at Knotts and Disneyland, Comic*Con events, meeting authors and actors/actresses, meeting artists, and midnight showings of the LotR movies and The Chronicles of Narnia. :) I think that's it...
GAK! I hate roller coasters. And I hate queues! I'm not too sure what the longest queue that I've ever stood in... probably the bookstore line in my first year University, when I didn't know to get there at 8 in the morning a day or two into classes.
BUT... when the US changed the passport requirement laws so that Canadians needed a passport to get into the US (instead of a lisence and birth certificate) (and only when flying - for now) the line ups at the passport office were ALL DAY. People would get there at 4 in the morning for the office's 9am opening, and some of the people who got there at 9 in the morning wouldn't even get in. This freaked me out majorly because I was planning on going to California in, like, 5 months, and once you submitted your application it took about 5 months to recieve your passport. And <i>I'd lost my passport.</i> But then I found it, and all was right with the world. :)
Dude - I'm British. We queue...... At the supermarket, for the ladies, to use to coffee machine....
Pirates of the Caribbean 3!!!!! Me and my friends were in line for it 2 HOURS before it was open for seating. It was GREAT! Best of the three. And thats All I'll say until everyone's seen it.

Didn't have to queue for that: I'm on the local theatres email list so as soon as they started advance ticket sales, I went online and ordered 8 tickets. We arrived, bought popcorn, waited for everyone to show up, and drifted in without a line.
