Did y'all get them or did y'all turn chicken at the sight of the needle? Bored minds want to know.
I'm waiting for a time where me and my tattoo buddy can go together! But I doubt I'd chicken out this time... it won't be my first. ;)
Also gotta make sure I have the money for it! :p Stupid money!
It was supposed to be last weekend for me, but didn't happen yet: my tattoo buddy was on her third round of anitbiotics for tonsilitis and we were advised that a tatt was probably not a good idea. She's been doing well, so I'm hoping we'll do it next weekend instead.
Gee, I guess that means that I'm the only one to have gone through with it so far. YES, Vix, you did read that right. Yesterday, I went willingly with Andrew to a tattoo place near his house and we each got one -- his 5th, my first. I'll post a couple of images of them later today. I tried taking one now, but between the angle I need to hold the camera at and the reflection off of the bacitracin ointment I cannot get a clear, unblurred shot.
I'm not going to say yet what I got, but I doubt it'll surprise those of you who know me away from role playing games.
How cool! I really wanted to go this weekend but Krista had plans and I had all of this paperwork I brought home. . .
And mine is not going to be a llama -- I still want a llama tattoo at some point, but need time to work up the design, which will be much more involved than firsts planned.
Hmmm. . . if I call Krista, I wonder if she can get away to do it this afternoon?

On my trip to California I got an idea for my second one - a compass rose on my heel, beneath my ankle. But we'll see. It sounds painful and I want to research into how quickly heel tats fade before I do anything. Having a big ol' blur in 8 years time doesn't appeal to me.

Its the Celtic Symbol for Luck. I'm not sure where I'd put it, but that's what I'd get. It's simple, not to obvious, and meaningful, perfect for me. I'd just have to remember not to look as I got it so I could stay conscious. :geek:

Patrick, if you go with that exact size, it would probably look nice on your upper arm or on a pec. As for staying conscious... It ain't the looking that you have to worry about, it's the pain. Getting a tattoo f******g hurts!!! We're talking thousands if not tens of thousands of needle pricks in one relatively small area. Once I got over the initial reaction to that pain, I had no trouble at all watching as the artist did the tat.

I'm pretty good on the pain part, I can stand quite a bit. Its the WATCHING that would kill me. I've said before but I have a fear of needles so watching someone stick THOUSANDS of them into me, *shivers*. But I wouldn't get it that big, maybe about the size of a quarter, I was just looking for a decent sized picture to show to people.

That's totally how I feel. I got my tattoo right over my anklebone, which the guy warned me was going to hurt... but it really wasn't that bad. The only part that bothered me was feeling the needle grinding on the bone... that was sorta icky!
But I couldn't look. That would have freaked me out! :D I just read the sign behind me on the wall. I might bring a book this time!
Well, I finally went through with it, though not a llama tattoo (I still intend to get one, but need to work the design first). Perhaps pictures later today.
Yes, it hurt. Not badly, but it hurt -- especially when the needle was closest to the bone. It also helped that the artist was very nice and professional and had a solid medical background as well.
Very keen to see pictures - though you'll probably be able to hear me Eeeeeee!-ing all the way over there. You're very brave.
