Title: New Pet
Post by: Vix on May 10, 2007, 04:44:48 PM
I mentioned in another post getting distracted and not replying to coposts earlier this evening. Part of that was weather (thunderstorms), part was chores (grocery shopping, gathering trash for pick-up), and supper.

However, what took most of the evening was a photo shoot. While we all adore Slink (http://www.vexingvixen.net/graphics/slink15.jpg), Chenoa has been begging to have her own pet. Anyhow, she finally got her wish, so we proudly introduce Rose Red! (http://www.vexingvixen.net/graphics/rose13_5_10.JPG)

I did not see a collar.  Or a tag so she (?) can be returned to you should she slip her leash

NO!  NO!  NO!  That is NOT a good thing!

Runs to jump up on a chair - like that would really help with this particular creature!

You obviously were't around when Jane and I were swapping spider stories from across the Pacific...

This one is very small compared to those you were discussing. She's only about 3 to 3 1/2 inches in diameter.

Oh wow, yeah, she could fit in the palm of my hand!  Strangely, that's almost cute....  Something must be wrong with me....

To put it in perspective:

You should have warned as to what the pet WAS! Spiders freak me out and even more when they are large enough to be *gulp* _furry_!

I think it is a very nice pet and unique as well.  The color is nice.  Perhaps you should give Ainlsey the information of where she could buy such a pet.  She really should have two or three! :evil4:

And I think we should take up a collection of marks to purchase Mina a nice python!  Or even a boa constrictor...

No I was not, but even still, it is not the size that matters!  Charlotte's Web is a very nice story but I still like to pretend she was something ELSE!  I'm not exactly  a spider person.  I like most animals.  I even like snakes.  I just have issues with spiders.  My brother did have a tarantula when I was young and I understand - in the rational part of my brain - that they are not really dangerous.  I even know that spiders in general serve a very important purpose.  I JUST DON"T LIKE THEM!

I'm with Ainsley on this one.

Eewww. I'm not a spider person either. I can accept lizard or snake and I had a rat once, but insectoids  :disgust:

Okay - that needed a warning on it.  Really it did.  My husband had to shut the web pages down for me.

I'm sorry. I didn't expect it to have quite that response. Her other choice was a snake, but perhaps that will come later.

A plus to having a new pet: Chen is usually not a mornng person and it's a real struggle to get her up and about. This morning she was up at 6:05, "saying good morning to Rose."

*Shudder*  Least favorite topic EVER!!!!  I never want to hear or read stories about those monsters again.

I like snakes :D  My cousin used to have an albino python named Zeus...  He was fun!

I like snakes too.  Would have much rather seen a snake.  *Shudders*  spiders.
