Now that I'm back writing Pern, I find that in RL I find situations that remind me of the writing and suddenly become more observant and start storing away memories that I can pull out to use in posts. Examples:
I found out that the mother of the new child in my class was a glassblower and immediately found myself planning to revive a glass-smith, the first character I had at Star Lake Weyr.
At a party this weekend, there was a jam session going on, and I paid special attention to 1) the mannerisms of the bass player and 2) the rhythm instruments being used, both as inspiration for future posts for Hartam.
How about the rest of you -- do you have those RL moments that make you say "that'd make a good post!"
Well, when I was writing up Kaefen, I actually used my current situation as reference. My fiance isn't a "Healer", an Engineer in the Oil field actually, but we moved far from our families for his job. We aren't married yet, but everyone here in NM calls me his wife and nothing will change in Nov. when we have our wedding.
Oh, and this isn't a known fact on his sheet, but it's understated that Kaefen and Isuel are having a hard time getting pregnant. And, sadly, I've had two miscarriages this year - they were all very early on, so it isn't as hard, but yeah. I'm working that into their stories.
I think that by writing them out as an interpretation of my fiance and I, I guess it'll make me feel better about how things are. Not that they're bad in any way... but yeah... you get it. Lol.

Matril, at Smithcraft Hall is a Senior Apprentice, working on becoming a glassblower. He will spend much of this year working on his graduation project.

I always use my real life experiences in my posts. I mentioned before that sometime my persona's take over my body and make me act like them. I try to use those moments as basis for my posts.
My entire life is fodder for stories. Not necessarily Triad posts, but almost everything eventually ends up somewhere.
The hazard of being a writer, I guess.
