Title: The Coolest Thing
Post by: PastMember on March 08, 2007, 01:59:37 PM
What's the coolest thing you've seen so far today?

So far today, the coolest thing I've seen is this sticker thing that was pasted onto the back window of an SUV in front of me. It was a circle that looked like shattered glass, and in the middle was half a real tennis ball. So it looked like someone had thrown a tennis ball hard enough to embed it in the SUV's window. At first, I thought that's what it was, but then I looked closer and realized the 'cracks' in the 'glass' were a little to perfect. Then I noticed the outside edge of the sticker.

It was really neat and I want one for my car! :jg:

So, go on, what's the coolest thing you've seen so far today?

Um... the coolest thing I saw today was... well now today was SO dull I can't think of anything that was cool enough to be worth mentioning.  Darn it.  Well I guess I should say something... um... erm... ok...

This morning in my first block class (drama my favorite class of the day) I watched my friend Rahim as he performed his monologue.  It was very well done.  That's it.

Here goes my inner geek...

The coolest thing I saw today was the feature on google where you can integrate gmail with your domain's e-mail, thereby offering 'gmail' like webmail to the users of your domain with their own @yourdomain.com addresses!

Very interesting to me. :D

Or maybe the coolest thing I saw was campus in my rearview mirror as I headed home for the first day of Spring Break! (Not counting that I have to go back tomorrow for my weekly meeting for work. Oh, phooey.)

Well, considering that I've only been awake for an hour and half....

I think the coolest thing I've seen so far today was that I was looking through a package my parents sent me which I still have yet to unpack.  I found at the bottom there were two tins of international coffee (that instant flavored stuff).  Considering I haven't had any in years, I thought that was pretty darn cool :D

The coolest thing I've seen today was a client at work who'd been a total *itch to the entire accounting staff eat her words when my coworker pulled out a file full of evidence to prove her wrong.

She turned bright red, and then paled to the point of being ghostly. I've always seen that described in books and never seen it happen in RL, so it was awesome.

Plus that whole 'eat her words' and apologize profusely part was great too.

I change my coolest thing!

They just posted the results for the Jr. High schoolers who took tests this week to enter this school (which is a public high school).  They've been lining up for a half hour to wait for the lists to be posted, many with their parents, and right at 9:00 the lists were put up and they all rushed forward to try to find their names on the list of students accepted to the school for next year.  They were screaming and hugging each other and calling their parents on their cell phones, taking pictures of their names, a few were crying happy tears (no sad ones that I could see)...  All the teachers lined up at the windows and watched, and we all just had to smile (and I could tell that the teachers around me were remembering the day they found their names on a list too)

After lunch I decided that it was so nice I would take the long way back to my desk, and walked around the lake.  As I was walking past the pier, the automatic cat-fish food dispenser kicked in and shot a stream of cat-fish pellets about 100-feet into the lake.

You could have walked that distance on the back of the HUGE cat-fish going after the food.

The coolest thing I saw today was the southern Cali beach.  I see it a lot, but today it was absolutely gorgeous!  The sun was bright, not a cloud in the blue sky, the ocean was sparkling and those rolling waves looked so inviting...

I can't wait for summer  :)

Well... the sun was shining. The snow was melting. I saw lots of folks without jackets, and several amazing folks in short sleeves. I saw signs of spring, and that is really frickin' cool. And about time.

I also saw this. Which is also pretty frickin' cool.

The coolest thign I saw today was my oldest and youngest daughters bonding again after not seeing each other for two weeks.

They're only together for a couple of days, but it was just the sweetest thing.  Maybe not the coolest - but definately the sweetest.

The coolest thing I saw was a series of photographs that my daughter sent to me. Last weekend several relatives asked me if they could get enlargements of one of Anjee's photos (the photos were whisked away from my home as soon as I received them in December and I really hadn't had a chance to see them), so I called and asked her about it. She sent me the digital files for several possibilities and I certainly wouldn't mind hanging most of those in my home.

I can't wait to see the ones she took on her recent elephant trek!

The coolest thing? I was helping my mother shop for her anniversary cruise, and after two years of searching I found TWO PAIRS of work slacks that fit perfectly.

Even better, we found a whole rack of swimsuits in our sizes that looked good on clearance!

I'm pathetic.... but at least I'm dressed!

Today I saw the groundhog that lives across the creek from my office. It's a cute lil critter and the coolest thing I saw today.  :flower:

The coolest thing I saw was that the sumo grand champion lost his first TWO bouts which hasn't happened to him since he became the Yokazuna which means that the tournament has been blown wide open and its just about anyone's game!

Which I know is only cool to me and little old Japanese men.... :confused5:

My older cat (Lea) and my new kitten (Sina) sleeping together under the covers! It is cool because a week or so ago they were hissing at eachother and Lea slept on one side of the bed (grumbling an time I so much as breathed because she was mad at me) and the kitten on the other. Now they love each other and sit together and like to groom each other.  :cat:   :cat:

Speaking of cats.  The coolest thing I saw today was my cat sleeping on the rocking chair in our living room and when I looked at him he looked back at me with that "what" expression cats get when you look at them like they think they're doing something wrong and don't care.  And I just smiled.  He's been ruling our house for three years and he's still cute enough that I want to just squeeze him all the time.

Coolest thing today had to be the seal at the Baltimore Aquarium imitating this little kid.

The kid was maybe four, and had his face smushed up against the glass of the tank... Every move the kid made, the seal made it too. His hand went up, the seal flipper went up. He started nodding, the seal nodded too.

I wish I'd had a camera handy.

I read that while eating breakfast today and had a nice, quiet little snerk. Thank you. :)

Today the coolest thing I have seen... umm... probably the magpies outside my office window struggling to break off tree branches for their nests. Not overly nifty, but hey - it's only noon!

I just saw the confirmation e-mail from my MASSIVE order from http://www.firemountaingems.com for which I paid exactly $15 thanks to a very generous birthday gift certificate.

Soooo happy! Soon I will be making all my own jewelery again! I even got a strand of aquamarine chunks to make funky jewlery out of, since not only is it my birthstone, but since my husband knows how boring I find diamonds, he gave me an awesome engagement ring with an aquamarine bordered by a few tiny amethysts.
