You've been seeing your balances creeping upward over the past few months, but now you can find out why!
Member Rewards are meant to reward those members who go above and beyond in any area, be it posting, helping with admin work, or welcoming new members to our fold. There are two parts to the Member Rewards: How you earn'em and what you can do with them.
While we're still hammering out the fine details of what you can do with them, here is the (semi) final list of how you get them!
If you have any questions, as always, please let us know.
All of you should notice that you have been given retroactive points for all of your posts from July and August. If you want to see your non-forum related rewards, you can go to your profile page on the website and click on "Balance History" next to your member rewards total.
POSTING/PERSONA RELATED MARKS
=======================
-Posting in a Weyr: 1 mark/post
-Posting in Hold/Hall: 2 marks/post
-Posting in a Bonus Location: 3 marks/post
-Posting As a Newbie: 5 marks/post
-Posting With a Newbie: 5 marks/post
-Creating a persona for a Bonus Location: 10 marks
-Coming up with an approved storyline for an entire Weyr: 15 marks
-Coming up with an approved storyline for an entire Hold/Hall: 20 marks
*A Newbie is defined as a member who has posted fewer than 10 posts.
*Bonus locations will be announced by the Council.
*L1s are not eligible for the storyline award.
VOTING/AWARD RELATED MARKS

-Nominating Crayon Awards: 5 marks/nomination
-Getting nominated for a Crayon Award: 5 marks/nomination
-Voting in any Contest: 5 marks
-Winning a Crayon Award: 10 marks
FORUM RELATED MARKS

-Replying to a topic on the Forums: 2 marks
-Starting a topic on the Forums: 5 marks
-Joining the Forums: 15 marks
ADMIN RELATED MARKS

-Being a Mentor: 10 marks/month
-Welcoming Committee: 10 marks/month
-Advertising (Approved Advertisements): 10 marks
-Recruiting a New Member: 25 marks
-Writing an Approved Craft Article: 25 marks
*Administrative Salaries are for Non-Council members only. Council members are expected to do this out of the goodness of their hearts.
*Marks for new members are given once the new member submits their first approved post.

The Member Rewards list is accessed through the "Members" tab on the website. There is a link to it under the "Reqs Tracker" on all member related pages.
Soon there will be a request form on this page as well where you can request to redeem rewards. For the time being, use the e-mail contact form to contact the webbies to redeem Member Rewards!
Um question, do the marks from the forums transfer directly over? OR is there something like a five to one or something with them? Just curious!
Are the rewards with council approval? It would be certainly interesting if we had 6 gold firelizards show up at the harper hall all of a sudden :D
The rewards are Council approval on what is reasonable. ;) If 6 people in the samel location all want gold flits, we might ask if they can wait or if another persona might want one.
And marks from the forums transfer over 1 to 1.
Not certain if this is the place to post it... but my marks on the website seem to be wrong. I have 10 marks for winning a crayon award for "Favorite Damsel In Distress" a catagory that I wasn't even nominated for!
Hey Anwen! The only place it should show up is in the "balance history". I added it by accident when I was tranferring some of the marks for voting in the Crayon Awards over...
I believe its not in your marks total or anywhere else!
I dont think I should be allowed near the marks any more LOL. I messed up one other one too!
Clancey, if it shows up in the Balance History, then it's gotta be in there! That's what the Balance History is... ;) It's the visible version of the calculations I use to calculate all the Marks, so if it's there, it's getting added in!
I've got to get a way for us to delete those in there. ;) I'll try to get that up soon, and we'll take care of it!
Question...If I want to revive a previously closed Hold, is that allowable, and is it the same amount of marks as a new PC Hold or can it be less *grin*?
I also seem to be missing marks for crayon awards nominations (Maiz was up for 2)... sorry to be a pain guys!
Whoops! I knew I was forgetting something. ;) I haven't added those to the website yet under awards. Once I do it, it'll update automatically.
Ok, maybe I'm reading this wrong, but bear with me a minute. According to the website a goldrider (non-WW or WW2nd) is a #4 ranker. On the list of ways to spend marks a level 4 ranker is 225 marks. Does that mean I can have a goldrider? Or does she have to be earned in a contest or something?
Sorry, goldriders are a special case. ;) I should have added that to the exceptions!
Free of Rank Limits means that if you're only supposed to have 2 L4 personas in one location, you can spend the marks to have a 3rd one. (For example, if you had a bronzerider and a gold flit at DCW, but wanted a Master Harper, you could pay to ignore the limit on only 2 L4s in one location.)
Yeah, I figured a goldrider couldn't possibly be that cheap! :)
