Title: Rank Knots
Post by: PastMember on May 28, 2003, 11:13:17 AM
Just a little FYI for everyone out in Triad land.  Rank knots are NOT actually sewn onto a person's clothes.  They are made to just slip on to the shoulder so that when one changes to another outfit, they can be removed and replaced with relative ease.

Hope this helps to dispell any misconceptions out there!

Read the Harper Hall books, Mikel.

:dunce:

hehe... they distinctly have them slipping knots over the arm and up to the shoulder.

You wouldn't want them sewn to clothing, b/c you'd need a set for every outfit that way, and shoulder knots would fray and fade with repeated washings, even of the non-machine sort.  If you ever pay attention to dress cords on band/military uniforms, they are almost always detachable, to remove before having the clothing cleaned.

Emotionally I know that.  As I told Lex, I knew in my soul that the knot-loop would be secured under epilettes.  The fact that my fingers typed something else (Gee!  Lucky for me Lex had kept that) is totally irrelavent.

That's my story and I am stickin' to it

And here I was thinking she was correcting me because of what I wrote in Nemhiti's ONPC persona sheet.

But hey, Mikel, if you want to take the blame by all means.

Hey, Loretta.  I am a fair kinda guy, and always willing to share the blame.

btw...

If FedEx is agreeable, I should have a sheaf of illustrations for Rank Knots of the Triad timeperiod to scan and get online!

They put a lot of effort into getting customer packages fom here to there very quickly.

Internal stuff, on the other hand....
