Hi, I'm Colleen I've read a few of the Books so far so I'm still kinda slow with all the terms and such of the dragons of pern.
Could some one tell me what I should do right now I'm kinda confused :puzzled:

If you're wanting to join in the pbem portion of the club (play-by-email roleplaying - interactive fiction is actually a better term), then you'll need to decide just what sort of "Pernese" you'd like to write for.
Which part of the books appealed to you the most? Dragonriders, candidates, crafters, etc. Choose one, then look through some of the sheets similar to your wishes...
For a candidate (you don't have to, just an easy example), you'd look at the main website (http://www.triadweyrs.org/welcome.php (http://www.triadweyrs.org/welcome.php) for the big Triad club and http://www.triadweyrs.org/dreamsend (http://www.triadweyrs.org/dreamsend) for the smaller Dream's End club) under the Weyrs in the right hand menu.
Dragonsfall Weyr is deep south, very cold and prone to winter blizzards (and we are currently in wintertime in the South).
Dolphin Cove Weyr is completely tropical, but occasionally a hurricane just happens by to blow folks around.
River Bluff Weyr is humid, in a river delta, with a climate probably comparable to that of the Mississippi Delta in the US (in the Louisiana/Mississippi area).
And if 200+ emails per month is a bit too much, you'd look at Dream's End:
Dream's End Weyr is in the edge of one of the Barrier Ranges, so they've got a temperate climate with farmland in the plains below.
Once you know what area you'd like, you can click on the link in that Location Guide and look at personas if you want. This will give you an idea of what a persona sheet would look like.
Then you click "Join Us" in the left menu and start creating away.
And if that's a bit intimidating... click on "Adoptables" in the left-side menu of the website and viola, ready-made characters needing a loving home.
Now... what sort of persona does interest you?
Add to all that, the love-able folks to write with.
But really, one of the nice things about a club such as Triad is the chance to write, and to write about topics that might interest you, but that in the real world you may never get a chance to experience. (For some reason, tanning comes to mind [See: Tanning Hall;) ]
Plus (and this was always a problem of mine), the chance to flex your writing muscle without having to devise a deep background, because it already exists. So you can concentrate on character development.
But most of all. Enjoy yourself. It is a fun hobby. Have fun. I know I do.

If you enjoy writing and good company, you have come to the right place, Colleen. Having just joined myself I've found this to be a very friendly, fun, encouraging bunch. My advice would be to really spend some time exploring the website, there is a plethora of information there. List any questions here, people are really good about answering.
When/if you are ready just create or adopt a character and jump in! You get a mentor so you don't have to worry too much about knowing every detail from the books; your mentor will help you out as far as terminology, book canon, & etc. This is a really fun hobby!
(Oh, and by the way, if weyrlife interests you, particularly candidates or weyrlings, there's a new Weyrlingmaster at Dragonsfall Weyr who would love to copost! :D And as Mikel has already mentioned, the Tannerhall is a VERY GOOD place as well.)
