Title: Dragon sighting...
Post by: Estelle on October 26, 2019, 06:00:33 AM
I was in Munich this week for a conference, and took some time off from work to take a tour of the city. On the way, we visited this sculpture on the side of the town hall, and I took this photo which I had to share with the club (click for larger image):

(https://www.triadweyrs.org/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tideys.co.uk%2Fimages%2Flindwurm.jpg&hash=836006a02829e8af011e174bbfe999351e2c6107) (http://www.tideys.co.uk/images/lindwurm.jpg)

Looks like a cute newly hatched green to me! But according to the tour guide, it is a "lindwurm (https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/wurmeck)", a rather nasty mythological dragon which was thought to spread the plague, back in the days when no-one knew about bacteria. You can see the townspeople fleeing in fear just above!

Anyone else seen any dragons in the wild?

Does a rather dejected Welsh rugby fan carrying a flag on TV count?

There was dragon statue in Cracow, as well as Dragon's Lair in a castle, too bad I can't post pictures. The dragon was called Smog, or something like that.
