The Weyrling Training Quick Reference has not been updated to include the DFW Jr Weyrlings, but I think they are in their 3rd month of training? (Hatched M10 d08, and we are in M12, yes?)
If all of that is correct, our Weyrlings have these lessons to look forward to:
Sevenday 1
Class: Flight Safety and Basic Trio Formations
Class: Dragonhealing Refresher, emphasis on fractures or strain injuries.
Drills: Advanced ground formations in trios and nines, Dragon Toss incorporated from dragonback. Dragonets take first flights alone, further strengthening their wing
Sevenday 2
Class: Basic Aerial Formations.
Class: Hunting Skills and Dragon Nutrition. Dragonet should learn to make first kill from the air this sevenday.
Class: Basic Threadfall and Weather Charting
Drills: FIRST FLIGHTS! All first flights must be supervised by one of the senior weyrlingstaff (Weyrlingmaster, 'Second, or 'Third). Solo flights for the first three days of the sevenday, with trios learning to fly together the next three days.
Sevenday 3
Class: First Aid Refresher, human and dragon. Weyrhealer and Weyrdragonhealer lectures.
Class: Advanced Threadfall and Weather Charting.
Class: Advanced Aerial Formations.
Drills: Aerial drills begin, first with trios, then nines. Basic formations only this sevenday.
Sevenday 4
Class: Long distance flights with hunting in wild herds.
Class: Mating Flights. Guest lecturers to cover etiquette, importance of being calm and controlled, and other aspects of mating flights. Reminders of proper behavior towards riders whose dragons are involved in a flight, particularly a female dragon's rider prior to a flight.
Class: Visualization Exercises begin
Drills: Aerial drills with nines and 'full flight' (all nine-grouped weyrlings), including rider substitution during drills and formation changes.
Anyone want to get involved with this?
