Saidrene

K'ran was a fairly light sleeper, and he was used to sleeping alone.
The few times he'd shared a bed with someone else he'd woken up
repeatedly during the night, unused to the sensation. After a flight
that had ended in success and the exertions that were entailed, he
tended to drift off into a deeper sleep, more restful. When he woke
up, he blinked up at an unfamiliar ceiling, and a weight against his
side, and his arm pinned under someone.

**Huh?** he thought, turning his head to see who it was.

Saidrene, who had already woke, was waiting for K'ran to stir. What
had surprised her upon waking was the new way in which she saw her
Wingleader. Before he had just been K'ran, sturdy, quiet K'ran, her
Wingleader, a man who had once been the Weyrleader of River Bluff
before it had been destroyed. She'd never taken note of exactly how
_fit_ he was, or that he had an exceptionally handsome face. How had
she not noticed before? She usually noticed things like that.

**Ashareth has good taste,** she thought, thinking of the ones who had
flown her before. **Chaneth, Zith, Loseth, and now Rogueth.**

Apparently the green liked bronzes or dragons in leadership.

K'ran saw Saidrene's soft heart shaped face and her hazel eyes. Her
hair was rich and dark, it was so different from Genna's blonde. He
hadn't expected it but his throat went a little dry at the sight of
her, so close to him.

"Saidrene," he greeted, his voice low and rough still. "Ashareth ran
us quite the chase."

"Yes, she did," Saidrene agreed. "Rogueth made quite the catch," the
greenrider purred.

"He knows her flight patterns well," K'ran said. His hand was going
numb under her and he moved it slightly, his fingers brushing against
the curve of her spine.

"Oh sorry," Saidrene smiled, lifting herself a little so that the man
could free his arm. All the rest of her, however, was still pressed
into his side.

And oh, Faranth, were parts of him aware of it. Aware and all too
eager to repeat the performance. Saidrene was really pretty. He
couldn't help but notice that. And soft, and womanly. He knew it was
the leftovers of the flight, but he still _wanted_.

But...she was his wingrider, shardit. It wouldn't be right... And yet,
as he freed his hand, he couldn't help but brush it across her face to
move a lock that was sweaty aside.

Saidrene knew the rules about fraternization within the Wing, but this
was a mating flight, and what happened in the flight rooms, stayed in
the flight rooms... Right? She leaned into the touch of his hand. Even
though she wouldn't consider herself as experienced as some women, she
could tell by the darkening of K'ran's eyes and the hitch in his
breath that he was just as aware of the leftover chemistry as she was.
Why not put that to good use?

Deciding to just go for it, the greenrider moved only slightly, since
they were already still quite entangled, pinning K'ran beneath her as
her thighs straddled his hips, her lips on his throat. "Have a few
more minutes, Wingleader?"

K'ran knew he wanted her but he hadn't quite processed how much until
she moved from beside him to stop him. He'd known their legs were
tangled together but there hadn't been a contact in the most important
places. Now there was her lips against his throat, his hips pinned by
her. It was a surprisingly vulnerable position, too, to be under her -
a reversal from the way his dragon had caught hers in the flight and
also of how assertive bronzeriders were supposed to be.

Suddenly he was achingly aware of how stiff he was and how close her
core was to him and his hips bucked up instinctively. At the same time
he flushed slightly, with reaction and embarrassment both. She was his
wing rider, he shouldn't keep this going, the flight was done but -

Oh but it had been awhile. And though he'd be loathe to admit it
aloud, her saying his title like that got him even more responsive. If
that was possible.

His hand pressed flat against the small of her back, urging her to
slide herself closer.

That was the response that she had been hoping for, Saidrene thought
as she slid herself along his body, fingers finding their way into
K'ran's hair as she nipped at the lob of his ear.

Oh, was it going to be like that? The nip on the ear inflamed the
needs of his body and gave the final push to overcame the common sense
he had been cultivating. "We can have more than a few," he said.

His free hand moving up to reach the back of Saidrene's neck and grip
it firmly at the nape where her soft hair started, tilting her head so
he could press her lips to his, nipping at them first and then
slipping his tongue into her mouth.

Who would have known that such passion was being kept bridled beneath
the Wingleader's placid appearance? Saidrene had certainly never
dreamed that he could be this way when they were in wingdrills.
K'ran's kiss sparked a sizzling tendril of desire that wound all the
way down to the core of her being. She especially liked the way it
felt to be on top of him, powerful and wanton.

When Rogueth had caught Ashareth, K'ran had claimed Saidrene. Now her
on top made it feel like she was claiming him. K'ran decided he was
happy to let her be on top, as long as it pleased them both - and the
way they were moving against each other, it was obvious they were
going to...

"Your shirt," Saidrene said, holding the garment out to K'ran between
two fingers. She refrained from saying "sir" or "Wingleader" as she
wasn't sure she would ever be able to say those words again without
blushing. She would do her best at Wing drills.

"Thank you, Saidrene," he said, taking it without meeting her eyes,
and nearly fumbling it, which was definitely a little awkward. He
spotted her chestband and bent over to pick it up and hand it back.

"You are welcome," she said with an unrepentant smile. She didn't feel
shy about their time together, in the least. Now she saw her
Wingleader through new eyes. It would be hard to think of him as "just
K'ran" but she would do what duty dictated since they were in the same
Wing.

K'ran slowly pulled his shirt back on and tucked it into his pants,
taking his time lacing all of his clothes back up to give the
greenrider a chance to leave first. And for his embarrassment to
settle.
