Emotional Description of Persona:
Milga is quiet girl who likes to stay on the background. She knows that best way to avoid trouble is to stay silent and avoid getting noticed. Some mistake it as timidness or shyness. She is very realistic and practical person, with unseen inner strength and depths. She feels most comfortable when in water. Her dream is to become the greatest dolphineer on Pern.
History of Persona:
Milga was born on Caldera Island Hold as a daughter to fishcrafter Milsaki and his first wife Galya. Galya died soon after Milga's birth. Two turns later Milsaki married Fatila. Milga's stepmother hated Milga from the start. She saw the girl as competition and threat to her own children, and constant reminder of Milsaki's first love. Milga soon learned to avoid her and she spent more and more time at the sea, with the local dolphin pod. They became like second family to her. Because the remote location of Caldera Island, there was no resident harper and journeying harpers visited them rarely. Milga admired them and tried to learn all she could from them, including their manner of speech. The people of the island have distinct manner of speaking she wanted to get rid off. Unfortunately, Milga was nine before she learned to read and write properly. She started to talk about becoming dolphineer to her father. He had reservations, but surprisingly Milga's stepmother became her best ally. Fatila just wanted to get her out of the way, in any way. Apprenticeship would be one way. By that time, she had given Milsaki five children, all girls. Finally her father gave in and all that was left to wait until she was old enough. After she turned twelve, she joined the dolphin hall and was accepted as an apprentice.
