Persona Profile: Lindria

(Inactive)

Name: Lindria
Age: 28
Birthday: m9 d23
Rank: Hold Resident
Location: Amber Hills Hold

Physical Description of Persona:
Lindria's appearance shows her heritage as a descendant of the Lords of Emerald Falls. Her black hair is kept mostly straight by its weight but here and there breaks into curls, especially around her hairline, and is next to impossible to tame. Dark skin and eyes such a dark brown as to seem almost black make her stand out in the cooler climate of Amethyst Cliff, while they were common in her birthplace. While her mother was slender and her father spare, she has somehow grown into a curvaceous figure and is the shortest of her family by several inches. She has rounded cheeks which dimple when she smiles, which is often!

Emotional Description of Persona:
Unusually for a woman born at Emerald Falls, Lindria is determined not to let the men of her family arrange her life for her. Though she has found that often it can be easier to coax those in authority into letting her have her own way, she is not afraid to stand up for herself when the need arises. In general a practical person, she has a romantic, soft-hearted core which can lead her to act impulsively and even foolishly on occasion. She is very much the more talkative and lively counterpart to her quieter husband, but it's easy to see that she is completely devoted to him - though she is less confident about her relationship with some of his relations.

History of Persona:
Lindria was the unexpected last child of Lord Ziadriel of Emerald Falls and his Lady, Enriline, born almost eight Turns after her next-oldest brother, Enrizial. Her birth came late in life for her mother and worried the healers, but she turned out to be a healthy and lively child and her mother made a full recovery. The baby of the family, she was a favourite in the ladies' quarters and with her brother, the Lord Heir. As a young girl, she was almost always to be found in the Hold's kitchen and she discovered a love of cooking and baking, although an apprenticeship was out of the question. When she grew into her teens and her mother tried to restrict her time in the kitchens for lessons in the duties of a wife and mother, she pleaded with both of her parents and managed to convince them to let her spend as much time there as was possible without causing a scandal.

As her sixteenth birthday approached her father began to seek out prospective suitors for her, but somehow she managed to evade each proposal. In this she was helped by the fact that her brother the Heir was still seeking his own wife and was soon distracted by becoming Lord himself when a wasting illness left their father too infirm to properly carry out his duties. However, after Lord Enrizial's marriage to Lady Anaia, he turned his attention to his younger sister and arranged a marriage for her with Alajeran, the son of Lord Alalir of Amethyst Cliff Hold, this time without consulting her so she had no opportunity to appeal to him.

When she found out what was going on, Lindria went to great lengths to avoid the marriage, even attempting unsuccessfully to run away from her home and seek sanctuary at the Weyr. Her first meeting with Alajeran was a success, though, as was the wedding - though she made sure to make her brother feel as guilty as possible in the sevendays leading up to it!
